Customer

A Customer refers to an organization or a company. It is used to group contacts under a common entity.

Adding New Customer

  1. Navigate to Customer Page using the sidebar,
  2. Click on "Add New Customer", present on the top right corner.
  3. Fill in the following details:
    • Customer Name: Name of the organization (e.g., Frappe .).
    • Domain: Email domain(s) associated with the company (e.g., frappe.io, mycompany.com).
  4. Click Add to save the customer.

Contact

A Contact is an individual user, who may be linked to a Customer (organization). This allows personalized communication while optionally grouping them with a company.

Creating New Contact

  1. Navigate to Contact Page using the sidebar,
  2. Click on "Create New Contact", present on the top right corner.
  3. Fill in the following fields:
    • Email ID (required)
    • First Name (required)
    • Last Name
    • Phone
    • Customer: (Optional) Select a customer this contact belongs to.
  4. Click Create to save the contact.

Contact Profile View

Once a contact is created, click on the contact in the list view and a popup will appear which includes various information such as:

  • Upload photo
  • Edit emails and phone numbers
  • Assign or update customer
  • Invite as user

Click Save after making changes.

Invite as User

When you click Invite as user, an email will be sent to the first email address listed.
This email contains a link for the contact to set their password and access the system as a user.

Notes

  • Linking a Contact to a Customer is optional.
  • If you do not want a Contact to be associated with a Customer, simply leave the Customer field empty.
  • Contacts under the same Customer can collaborate and see each other’s support tickets.
